FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) - A group says it wants public comments on a proposal to create a database that would list drivers in Davis County who have multiple drunken driving convictions.
A coalition that includes law enforcement agencies wants to post the names, photos and number of DUI convictions on a public database. First-time offenders would not be listed.
Davis Health Education and Law Enforcement Programs was formed after Davis Behavioral Health Inc. received a three-year, $76,000 federal grant.
Bountiful Police Chief Tom Ross says the database could be up and running as early as fall if the coalition believes county residents want it.
Ross says the information that would be on the database is something anyone could get by calling the courts.
