PROVO, Utah (ABC-4 News) - PROVO, Utah (ABC-4 News) - An accident in Provo Canyon killed a couple from Heber and left a woman and two-year-old in critical condition Monday afternoon.
The Utah Highway Patrol says around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon a Nissan Altima carrying two adults and two children crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and struck a Subaru carrying two adults and one child.
The driver of the Altima, 63-year-old Kathleen Draper and her husband 63-year-old Val Draper, from Heber, were transported by air to a nearby hospital where they were both pronounced dead. A two-year-old child that was a passenger in the Altima is listed in extremely critical condition, according to the UHP.
UHP says the driver of the Subaru was 25-weeks pregnant and lost the baby as a result of injuries sustained from the accident. She remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident.
