CENTERVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A brand new theatre is coming to the Wasatch front and today they broke ground on it.
The Davis cultural arts center will be built in Centerville. The 57,000 square foot building will have 500 seats for the main stage. The building will also have black box theatre and classroom space.
The project is a joint venture between Centerville, Bountiful and Davis County.
Ron Russell, the Centerville mayor said, “it’s the kind of project that one of our communities could not have done alone but joining together we're able to put together the funding to build just a first rate facility. So we're excited about it.”
They're expecting the theatre to be finished in 18-months and the first performance is already scheduled for January 2011.
