WEST VALLEY (ABC 4 News) - A neighborhood took action to fight against drug dealers in their area.

Neighbors of an alleged drug house called police after noticing suspicious behavior and as a result seven men are in jail.

The house is located at 4040 S. 4800 W. in West Valley. Neighbors spotted strange cars parked along the street…someone would get out, go into the house and return in a few minutes and take off. That was the tip off to call the police.

"Our street is a nice street and we want to keep it that way and any cars that come in here, it raises suspicions,” Says neighbor Robert.

The alleged drug house sticks out like a sore thumb. For nearly a month police had it on its radar after getting the tipoff from nearby residents.

Police set up surveillance and eventually made buys of cocaine and methamphetamines from those inside the home. This led to the arrest of seven men Wednesday night.

Police said all appeared to be illegal immigrants. Wilson Zuniga was actually deported two years ago after getting busted in Salt Lake City.

“Police acted very discreetly very professional and they took care of our needs,” says Robert.

The seven men moved into the home about three months ago. Because of the neighborhoods quick action to notice the suspicious behavior, now the men are gone.

"We do what we can but you can't be everywhere and see everything that's going on. Citizens tips are just invaluable to us,” says Caption Tom Mclachlan of the West Valley Police.

The drug problem will continue forever if we don't try a new tactic. How about this one? SOLVING THE DRUG PROBLEM 1. The government provides drugs for FREE. 2. Drugs available at local clinics with prescriptions for those drugs which now require prescriptions. Some drugs would require an addiction reduction regiment - "gradual reduction in the quantity of drug used." 3. Recreational drugs such as marijuana, would require attendance to an educational program before each dose provided. 4. Housing, food, education, and health care provided if necessary to stop the usage. BENEFITS 1. Lives saved. 2. Trillions of dollars saved by not having to pay for hospital care, cops, jails, lawyers, judges, probation officers, and crimes committed to obtain drugs. 3. More people being productive citizens.
