SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Two separate traffic stops along I-80 in Summit County led to the seizure of 145 pounds of marijuana.

While working with the DEA Interdiction Unit on Thursday, a Summit County deputy smelled marijuana during a conversation with a driver during a routine traffic stop, stated a press release distributed by the Summit County Sheriff's Office. After the deputy conducted a search of the vehicle, he found user amounts of marijuana in the passenger compartment. A K9 unit later located 40 pounds of marijuana in the subject's vehicle.

On Saturday deputies conducted another routine traffic stop on I-80 near Wanship. After a positive indication by a K9 unit, the vehicle was searched and 104 pounds of marijuana were located in the trunk of the vehicle.
