Molotov cocktail thrown into South Salt Lake restaurant

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A bomb squad was called to a restaurant in response to scene that could have turned tragic.

Early Tuesday morning a Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window of the Mi Ranchito restaurant located at 3600 S. and State Street.

Fortunately the bottle did not break, resulting in no fire.

Officials say the intent was definitely to start a fire in the restaurant, but only a chair cushion was burnt.
