SOUTH JORDAN, Utah. (ABC 4 News)- The missing girl from South Jordan who has been the center of a large-scale search was found in Las Vegas, Friday.

6-year-old Kassidy Kay Nelson was discovered with her biological mother, Megan Boynton, who does not have legal custody of her daughter.

The South Jordan Police Department, working with the United States Marshal Service Joint Criminal Apprehension Team found the missing girl in Las Vegas, after receiving several investigative leads.

The two were taken into custody without incident, and Kassidy is reported to be in good health.

She will be returned to her grandparents, who have legal custody, as soon as possible.

Kassidy vanished from the home she lived in with her great-grandmother on Wednesday night. Her great grandmother and legal guardian, LaFaye Hamilton, said the girl went to the front door because the dog was barking.

“She just opened the door and she was gone,” Hamilton said.

South Jordan Police officers were called in and an investigation was launched to help locate the missing girl.
