Man who wandered from care center found safe near I-80

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A man missing form a care center was found safe near 2700 South and I-80 in East Millcreek Wednesday morning.

Police say 55-year-old Richard Eady wandered from the Canyon Rim Care Center at around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday night.

Eady has dementia and Parkinson's disease, and did not have his needed medication when he disappeared. He also uses a walker, which he did not take with when he left the center. Care workers were worried Eady was not dressed for the cold weather, either.

Care center workers called police at midnight to report Eady's disappearance. He has a history of wandering from the center before, but never for such a long time.

Drivers reported seeing a man sitting near 2700 South along I-80 and Eady was recovered unharmed.
