TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A man led police on a high speed chase, ending with an accident and mess in front of the Taylorsville Walmart on Monday.
Unified Police tired to pull over Eduardo Lopez when he took an illegal left turn near 5600 South and Bangerter Highway around 1:15 a.m.
Police say Lopez wouldn't stop, so the officer followed.
At one point police say Lopez was driving fast, over one hundred miles an hour, so the officer stopped the chase.
A short time later, police say witnesses saw the driver lose control and roll the vehicle six or seven times in front of the Taylorsville Walmart at 5600 South and Redwood Road.
Lopez ran from police, but Police dogs found him in a neighboring apartment building. Despite rolling the car several times, Lopez had only scrapes and bruises, along with some bite wounds from the police dogs.
Police say Lopez was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was expected to be released and booked into jail later on Monday.
Lopez is facing charges for resisting arrest and police believe alcohol was involved.
