SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Murray man has been ordered to stand trial on charges stemming from the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Third District Judge Randall Skanchy ruled Friday there was sufficient evidence to bind 31-year-old Ryan Robinson over for trial on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon by a restricted person.

Robinson is accused of killing 25-year-old Shantelle Reid on April 9 in the home the couple shared with his parents in a suburb south of Salt Lake City.

The victim's brother, Jay Reid, said his family had grown increasingly worried about the couple's eight-month relationship because of their arguments.

Police had been called to the house earlier in the day after reports of a fight between Reid and Robinson.
