SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A strange case of arson lands a man behind bars.
Police say a homeless man tried to burn down a tree at 700 South and 300 East, but it's a special tree. Some say it used to have the image of the Virgin Mary in its trunk.
Leslie Iceman faces charges of public intoxication and arson. Police say he used matches and cardboard to try and burn the platform that leads up to the spot where the image was.
The tree has been vandalized in the past and the image was gouged out, but many still worship at the tree.
