Man Suspected of DUI hits two bicyclists in Murray

MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say a man is in jail after hitting two people on bicycles early Friday morning. Police also suspect that the man had been drinking before the accident.

Police say at about 1:15 a.m., the man was driving south on Van Winkle Expressway at 4500 South in Murray when he hit two people riding bikes on the side of the road.

Ryan Turley was treated and released from a local hospital with minor injuries.

Robert Cooper was hospitalized in serious condition.

Officers arrested Michael James Saenz on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs while the passenger in the car ran off.

Police say both bikes did have flashing lights.
