SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah woman who pleaded guilty to bribery for helping illegal immigrants obtain fraudulent driver's licenses has been sentenced to jail time and community service.
Evevia Nez pleaded guilty to a single count of soliciting a bribe in December.
A 3rd District Court judge in Salt Lake City ordered a five year prison term on Monday, but then suspended the sentence. The 47-year-old Kearns woman will serve 30 days in jail and do 300 hours of community service instead.
Nez must report to the Salt Lake County jail on Feb. 21.
Nez worked at a state driver's license office and was paid $150 for each license she provided.
Immigrants would come to Nez's window without taking a service ticket to avoid being sent to another worker.
