UTAH COUNTY (ABC 4 News) - Officials say three fires in Utah County were caused by illegal fireworks.
The first fire occurred Saturday around 3 p.m. at 200 South Nevada Avenue in Provo. Officials tell ABC4 the fire was cause by fireworks and burned about an acre of a field. No structures were damaged and no one was injured.
Later Saturday afternoon two more fires occurred near the mouth of Hobble Creek Canyon. Each of these fires burned about a half of an acre, and crews were able to put the fires out very quickly.
Officials believe these three fires are related because the same type of illegal rosebud firework was found at the scene of each fire.
More investigation will take place Tuesday as Provo and Utah County Officials work together to find out who is responsible for these fires.
