PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A Provo hiker came close to death on Sunday but fortunately rescue crews rescued him in time.
It happened on Y-mountain in Provo where rescue workers say 23-year-old Samuel Cannon lost the trail while hiking in the mountain and got stuck on a steep cliff.
Cannon was able to free his hand to call for help. When rescue workers arrived they found him on a narrow ledge, clinging onto the mountainside.
Crews were able to lower him down 30 feet to the base of the cliff.
