This idea is totally appalling, disturbing & foolish beyond words. You're risking the safety of everyone so those of you who enjoy stalking & killing helpless wild animals, who have migrated & roamed this area long before man came here, can have open season to easy targets 360 days a year. You will open a floodgate of problems & you won't beable to control all of the problems this will create, all the time. You'll have people out in the dark of night & going on private property as long as they aren't caught. What rights do the deer have or those who are against animal cruelty when we have to see a helpless wild animal get shot & killed because this is their habitat and are being forced out of everywhere by man's selfishness to consume everything he can instead of doing the "RIGHT" thing and learn to share this land, the earth, with all living things. Afterall, God created them also. So what if the deer eat some trees, shrubs, flowers,etc? Squirrels & other wild animals do also. It's a small, cheap price to pay to live here in this area. Move, if you have issues with the deer. The elk come close to So. Mountain Rd in Highland during the winter. You will have idiots out all over killing & playing the "ignorant card" to where they are hunting, when (all hours, night & day, creating personal risks of property for homeowners). What about the trama caused to many children (& adults)to see a person with a bow & arrows walking around & killing an animal many of us love & enjoy? If you sat & watched deer & other animals, you would learn they have families they care for, they have feelings, they have lives & work to provide just like humans. Frankly, there is an over population of humans, much more so than deer & they have been "invading" this area (all of Utah even),far too long & many are a nuisance plus you can find far too many of them are a safety risk to all of us. Just try driving from Alpine/Highland/anywhere, to any place. Highland City needs better smarter leaders.

I am a archery hunter and can't see the point to take the time to hunt and harvest a deer that I can't keep for myself. You should allow the hunter to harvest or transplant the deer somewhere else since the over all herd in Utah is down.
