WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Every October, one West Jordan home undergoes a remarkable transformation, leaving it one of the scariest places in town all for a good cause.
For over a decade, every year, Brian Stacey and his family spend hours and hours decorating their home with an assortment of spooks, spiders and bats, ghouls and gravestones to mark the October holiday for everyone to enjoy.
The scary sight is free for everyone in community; the only thing Brian asks is that visitors bring a donation for the Utah Food Bank.
"This is our way to give back," Brian says. "Everyone needs food, and this is how we can help those who need it."
The haunted house was up and running every weekend throughout the month of October, and as of Halloween night, more than 2,000 pounds of food had been donated.
Brian says nothing can stop him from continuing his holiday tradition, not even the "spooky" power bill he is expecting to get in the mail next month.
"I'm just hoping West Jordan will give me a discount," he says.
