SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Forbes magazine named seven of Utah's ski resorts in their list for "Top 10 Ski Resorts in the United States for 2013."
The business magazine decided the rankings - using an unofficial "Pure Awesomeness Factor" or PAF.
Alta and Snowbird tied for number two on the list. Deer Valley, Park City, and The Canyons all came in at number five, while Brighton and Solitude ranked together at number eight.
Forbes used criteria such as accessibility to resorts, nightlife, friendliness of locals, and of course snow quality to determine the "awesomeness" of each resort. They compare Utah's snow, which is hailed worldwide as the greatest snow on earth, as a "dallop of whipped milk on a cappuccino."
Here's a ranking of other resorts that made the list.
1. Jackson Hole
2. Alta/Snowbird
3. Telluride
4. Vail
5. Park City/Deer Valley/The Canyons
6. Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows
7. Silverton Mountain
8. Brighton/Solitude
9. Big Sky
10. Wolf Creek/A-Basin
