UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 News)  A family treasure has been returned to the daughter of a World War II Veteran.  An old uniform, in mint condition, was found in the basement of the Ace Hardware building in Delta, Utah.   On it was the name of an US Air Corps member, M.L. Workman.
The building's owners gave the pictures to ABC 4 to help find the man's family.  And, after the story aired on the evening news Friday, the two families made a connection.
Over the weekend they met and the uniform was returned.  It belonged to Merlin Horne Workman, who served with the 319th Jolly Rogers.  His familiy used to own the Ace Hardware building.  Back then it was a grocery store, then a furniture store.  And, Workman worked as a delivery person.
Apparently the uniform had been in the dark, dusty basement ever since.    Workman's daughter Rae Ann Nilson, says when she first saw the uniform she burst into tears and says it was like taking a walk into the past.
     Workman died back in 2005.
