HAGERMAN, Idaho (ABC 4 News) – New information is surfacing about the minutes before a Utah pilot crashed and died in Idaho.
Craig Jewett of Centerville had just bought the Piper Comanche and was flying home when he crashed.
FAA officials on the scene near Hagerman say the plane was flying erratically right before the crash.
Radar recordings show the altitude was varying with steep declines and rapid descents.
The plane even made u-turns at one point. The FAA says the skies were overcast, which could have disoriented a novice pilot.
Jewett leaves behind a wife and four boys.
