OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A grisly accident just north of Ogden shut down part of I-15 Sunday morning.
Several victims, including children, were in the hospital Sunday and are lucky to be alive.
The head on collision happened just before 11:00 am in Farr West.
Investigators say this was not the result of speed or weather, but rather a driver error.
“It appears she was trying to change lanes northbound” says Lt. John Mitchell or the Utah Highway Patrol. “There was a vehicle she did not see, she swerved to the right.
That’s when she lost control, went across the freeway, hitting a gray sedan with two people in side. The truck then flipped and landed in a ditch filled with water.
A witness got out of his car and helped pull children from the truck. Then firefighters arrived with the jaws of life.
In all, eight victims were pulled from the accident, including two toddlers and two teenagers. Three were transported by air ambulance and three were transported by ground.
Amazingly, nobody was killed in the wreck.
