SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - After months of debate over increasing downtown parking fees, the Salt Lake City Council approves this year's budget.
Council members approved a $205 million budget. That's actually about $900,000 more than what Mayor Ralph Becker was proposing.
The new budget includes a parking fee increase. Curbside parking will now cost $2.00 an hour and new parking meters enforcement hours will be extended from 6pm until 8pm. Saturday's are still free, except during the holiday shopping season.
