SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A downed fiber optic line over Interstate 80 closed the freeway in both directions Friday morning.
Traffic was diverted to 1300 East and other surface streets as crews worked to clear the scene.
A spokesperson from Comcast says a construction worker clipped the wrong line, which fell onto the freeway.
Several Comcast customers were without cable or internet service in Rose Park, West Valley City, Grantsville and Kearns.
The cable was cleared from the freeway area within an hour, and traffic was opened again.
