SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A child is dead Tuesday morning from a house fire in Spanish Fork.
Police say a person was driving by the home around 1:30 A.M. when she saw flames.
When firefighters arrived, police say the 87-year-old great-grandmother of the toddler was outside yelling for help.
Police say the flames were too dangerous to go inside, and as the fire raged, a gas line ruptured, fueling the fire even more.
Firefighters later found the 2-year-old's body in his room.
Police say that the boy's mother, who is the granddaughter of the older woman was also staying at the home but had left for about an hour.
When she returned, police say she saw emergency and fire personnel and learned about her son's death.
Police say investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
