WEST VALLEY CITY (ABC 4 News) – A handful of car stereo thefts took place Saturday night near the Shadow Brook apartments at 3852 south 1845 west in West Valley.
Police say somebody broke car windows at the apartment complex to get sound systems out of some of the vehicles.
One of the victims, Angelina Whetman says this is not the first time she has had something like this happen to her and her family. It has happened to her mother twice; the first time the thieves took her face plate and this time they took the stereo system.
Whetman says none of her neighbors saw anything suspicious Saturday night or the next morning.
ABC4 took action and looked for other thefts around the apartment complex using our crime tracker system. We found within one mile radius over the past 30 days there has been nine cases of theft; seven from vehicles and one theft of a vehicle.
