PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A BYU student,
given a note by a man saying her clothing had a negative effect on others, is now modeling for a Utah based clothing company.
Brittany Molina wore a dress on Valentine's Day that fell slightly above her knees. It is a violation of the Brigham Young University's honor code to wear dresses above the knee.
The controversy caught the attention of Cristin Pulsipher, owner of Chris & Kate's, a clothing line specializing in modest fashion. Pulsipher asked Molina to be a model for their clothing line.
"She is a great person with great morals and high standards," Pulsipher said. "We're taking a negative and making a positive out of it."
The boutique sells skirts that fall below the knee and skirt extensions. One skirt extension is now named "The Brittany."
"It's been a really cool experience and I learned a lot," Molina said a Tuesday photo shoot.
Molina said she has no hard feeling against the anonymous man who handed her the note which stated her clothing had a negative effects on the people around her.
"I think the note was a little rude, but the guy was sticking up for what he believed in and I respect that," Molina said.
The 21-year-old still receives anonymous notes, but from men asking her out on dates.
"I've never gotten so many love notes before," she added. "It's pretty funny,"
