SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A judge has issued a bench warrant for a Salt Lake City councilman for failing to appear in court for two hearings earlier this year.
Court documents show a 3rd District Court judge issued a warrant for Eric Jergensen's arrest in late March and again this month after he missed a June 19 hearing.
On Tuesday, Jergensen said there was simply a miscommunication with an attorney, who he says told him he didn't have to show up for court.
The appearances were for a lawsuit over a dispute between the Utah Labor Commission and Jergensen's company, Woods Cross-based Contour Composites Inc. Jergensen says he expects the bench warrant and a $16,600 judgment against Contour to be resolved by the end of the week.
