77-year-old arrested in undercover FBI sting

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 77-year-old Midvale man who authorities say was traveling to Las Vegas to have what he thought would be sex with minors has been arrested.
The Deseret News reports Ray Alvin Stephenson was arrested on six counts of enticing a minor over the Internet in the undercover sting.
A Salt Lake County Jail report says Stephenson exchanged text messages with someone he thought was the mother of girls aged 9 and 11. The report says he offered $100 for the sexual activity.
Authorities say they arrested Stephenson Sunday on a bus to Las Vegas.
The woman police say he exchanged texts with was an undercover FBI agent.
Stephenson remains in Salt Lake County Jail on $15,000 bond.
The name of his attorney wasn't immediately known.
