MIDVALE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 3-year-old boy fell out a 2nd story window at a Midvale duplex around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Capt. Cliff Burningham, of Unified Fire Authority, said the victim pushed on a screen and fell 10 to 12 feet and injured his arm.

He was transported, by ground, to Primary Children's Medical Center in serious condition.

Burningham says UFA has responded to numerous window falls this year. He said there are many ways accidents like this can be avoided.

"Decorative grating, as well as mechanisms that will limit how much a window can open, are good ways to prevent these accidents from happening," said Burningham
