RIVERTON, Utah (AP) - Authorities say one brother shot and
killed another who went on a rampage in a Salt Lake City suburb.
Steven Shane Knighton, 39, told sheriff's deputies his younger
brother barged into his house after breaking windows of parked cars
and threatening motorists in a Riverton neighborhood.
Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson says it's up to
prosecutors to decide if Knighton's claims of self-defense are
legitimate. He's being held on suspicion of murder.
Hutson says Shad Knighton, 35, was acting wildly before he was
hit multiple times in the torso early Saturday.
The other brother tried to revive him and reported the shooting
to police dispatchers.
Hutson says the brothers were together for hours, moving items
between storage sheds and drinking.
