If people actually read the Affordable Healthcare Act instead of GOP lies and misdirection they will Support this law. The GOP wants the government to stay out of our lives. The government could start by staying away from our private lives and away from our genitals. Private means private. We have a black man as president, get over your prejudice and see that he is a president for the Americans, not for the billionaires who want to buy the election for Romney. We need a president who will look out for the people and for their health. Over reliance on states' rights gave us segregation and Medicaid coverage like that in the deplorable state of Florida. Wake up America. Hurrah for Obama's great health care law!@!!

People with low incomes will get tax credits to offset insurance costs. Also, you will have a number of choices to compare in an online exchange network that will be created when the mandate takes effect. There, insurance companies can compete to offer you the best deal. On the other hand, you can choose not to buy any at all, and face the higher tax, and also be prepared to pay up front for all your health care needs, so the burden of the cost of your health care doesn't fall on the shoulders of those of us that do choose to be covered. I think I will stick with the plan I already have in place through my employer, at least as long as they continue to offer it. That is another option for many people. Hope this helps as well: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/what-the-supreme-court-s-ruling-means-for-consumers.html

How can this be "good for America" when most of the people who don't have healthcare/insurance can't afford it in the first place and then could be fined for not having it? I know of someone who would love to have healthcare/insurance to help care for her brain-injured son, but because she can't work and her husband is self-employed they can't afford to buy it, so they rely on State assistance (which she hates having to do). So does that mean they are going to be fined because they CAN'T get insurance (i.e. obey the law)? How is that a "good thing"????? I feel very strongly that this is a horrible law which, even though I don't know all about it, will hurt people that are already down-for-the-count. You know, not everybody has that kind of money even if they have a good job and not all employers offer their employees insurance at all or make it affordable!

If I could afford health insurance, I would have purchased it by now. Unless the government is offering to pay for my insurance, I still can not afford it. It's a simple as that.
