SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - While Mitt Romney is the overwhelming favorite
to win Tuesday's Republican presidential primary in Utah, another favorite son won't even be on the ballot.
His name is Jon Huntsman Jr.
Salt Lake County Election Clerk, Sherrie Swensen, tells ABC 4 that Huntsman didn't
file as a presidential candidate in Utah.
This means his name won't be on the ballot.
Huntsman had been a presidential candidate but he suspended his campaign and
endorsed Romney.
But other candidates - like Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich - also suspended their campaign but will be on the Utah primary ballot.
Huntsman is the very popular former governor of Utah and likely would have
attracted a number of votes.
So, we also asked Swensen if voters might cast write-in ballots for
Huntsman.
However, she told us that is not allowed in primary elections.
