ROY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Neighbors of the two teens accused of plotting to bomb their high school describe the boys as lonely and attention craved.
Joshua Hoggan, 16, is an only child. Neighbors said Hoggan spends his time alone in his room on a computer. Hoggan's peers said he had few friends and was mad at the world.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Hoggan was fascinated with the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado. He traveled to Colorado to interview the principal of Columbine High School in December 2011.
Authorities said Hoggan bragged his plot would have been better because he was more intelligent than the Columbine killers.
Dallin Morgan, 18, is also described by peers as a loner. Neighbors said the teen stayed home and hardly socialized with others.
Morgan is accused of spending months plotting the attack with Hoggan.
A student received a text from Hoggan which hinted at an imminent plan to hurt students and staff at Roy High School. The student confronted an administrator who in turn notified authorities.
"Thank goodness that student have the nerve to say something," Holly Canright, a Roy resident, said. "Otherwise who knows what would have happened. It would have been a real disaster."
