ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Two teens who were struck by lightning nearly one year ago will be giving back to their St. George community next week.
On October 5, the one-year anniversary of when they were struck, Alex Lambson and Dane Zdunich will be celebrating.
They say if it weren't for the first responders giving CPR, they wouldn't be here today. Now they're asking everyone to get CPR certified to save a life.
They're raising money for the American Heart Association at Dixie ATC with a pinic in the park.
Picnic dinners will be provided by Great Harvest for a $5 donation per plate. All proceeds will go to help defer the costs of certification for many people taking the training classes.
The picnic in the park will be Wednesday October 5th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Vernon Worthen Park 300 South 400 East, St. George Utah.
As for the boys, Alex is still dealing with hands and fingers that don't work right, but he's adjusting and is attending Dixie State College.
Dane is doing great. He's a senior in high school and working at a local grocery store.
