We live in the mountains. Mountains are wild animal's territory. It is their natural instinct to hunt. It boggles my mind when people are surprised that when they place chickens and other live-stock in their yards that cougars and the like come to hunt! It's like setting up a self-serve meal for these animals!! It lures them down from their natural habitat to our neighborhood! Wow! Big surprise! So, the Fish and Game come out and eliminate these animals. Really? Ever hear of relocation?? I am so disturbed by this. The cougars don't have a game plan. They hunt. You set out chickens in your yard, they are going to come down for an easy meal. Be responsible people! Especially if you have young children around! What in the world are you thinking??!!!??!

What happened to the cougar kitten? What were there legal repercussions to a private individual for trapping a mountain lion? Were proper permits obtained in advance? Did Utah's game agency support this?
