TAYLORSVILLE (ABC 4 News) - Jeopardy is known as America's favorite quiz show and one Taylorsville 10-year-old is trying to make her way onto the kids version of the show. So ABC4's Emerson Lotzia caught up with Moana Johnson to see if she's got what it takes to be the next Jeopardy kids star.
"It's always been one of my dreams to be on Jeopardy and we've been watching the show for the past two years with my family," said Johnson.
Moana might just be your next Ken Jennings. Remember him? He's the BYU Alum who won 74 Jeopardy games in 2004 before he was defeated by challenger Nancy Zerg on his 75th appearance.
In nine days on January 15th, Moana will interview in Los Angeles to determine if she'll be a contestant during Jeopardy kids week.
"Yeah, like yesterday we tried to do some quizzes online for testing me," said Johnson.
This all started in October when Moana took an online test to see if she could be on the show. When she finished up, she had no idea how she did. Until recently...
"We finally got that magical email and it told me if I made it and I did," she said.
Here's the thing, like many of us, Moana's family is struggling during these economic times and they need your help getting to Los Angeles for their interview.
