SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A South Jordan firefighter is fighting for his life after a motocross accident.
Wes Walker was racing motocross last month when he crashed, breaking his femur and shattering his tibia and fibula.
The accident was just the beginning of Walker's problems.
"He had a really really rare syndrome that developed called Cerebral Fat Embolism Syndrome, which is essentially when little balls of fat go up to the brain and kind of gum up the works there, and after surgery, he didn't wake up which is how they knew he had this syndrome," said Ben Penick, a former co-worker and friend of Walker.
Walker is still hospitalized in critical condition.
Fundraisers are being held throughout the month and if you would like to help, you can visit
