OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Radio calls between law enforcement, first responders and operators on the night a deadly shootout in Ogden captures the urgency of that night.
"All units responding, take cover," yelled an officer on scene. "Shots are being fired out into the area, all officers take cover, don't come onto scene!"
Six officers were shot during the Jan. 4 shootout. The officers were conducting a drug raid and trying to execute a search warrant at Matthew David Stewart's home when shots rang out.
"We have several officers down! We have several officers down! Get units up here now," the officer yelled.
Ogden police officer Agent Jared Francom died was transported to Ogden Regional Medical Center where he died.
Stewart was released from the hospital yesterday and transferred to Weber County jail. He was booked on one count of criminal homicide aggravated murder, seven counts of attempted aggravated murder, and one count of producing marijuana.
