SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah offers residents many outdoor recreation activities, but what should you do if you run into a bear or mountain lion?

People learned the answer to that today as part of Predator Awareness Day at Hogle Zoo.

Various demonstrations were set up to show how you can get out of a dangerous showdown with nature's animals.

"Be aware. Be aware that they're out there. Understand you're going into territory that's inhabited by them," said Jane Larson, Animal Care Supervisor at Hogle Zoo.

To learn more about predators in Utah, you can stop by the zoo, or visit the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources online at wildlife.utah.gov before you hit the outdoors.
