SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – If you’ve seen Ghostbusters, you know the film was all about finding ghosts who haunted old buildings in New York City. To many it was just movie script, but some claim ghosts really exist, and haunt places here in Utah. On Tuesday, Good Morning Utah checked out one of them.

Apparently real ghosts walk the halls at the old Rio Grande train station. Tuesday, Grimm Ghost Tours showed Good Morning Utah some of the places where people have seen ghosts there.

Back during “the War” the train station used to be the center of town, kind of like the airport back in the day. As the story goes, a woman was engaged to a soldier there. They got into a fight on the train platform. Apparently he threw her engagement ring over the railroad tracks, and she ran to go get it, and got hit by a train. Since she died, there have been several times people claimed they've seen her roaming around the train station. She wears a purple dress. People said they've seen her in the women's bathroom, sometimes people said they can hear her singing.

It's one of several ghosts who apparently haunt the Rio Grande, and the train station is one of several places haunted by ghosts in Salt Lake City.

Grimm Ghost Tours walks you through all the spots known to be haunted in the Salt Lake area. If you want to check out the tour, just click on the link embedded in this story.
