SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - AAA and other fuel watchers warn to get ready, this summer could be brutal.

Prices are already slowly increasing, but come this summer January might look like a bargain.

A new study says come Memorial Day, we could be paying more per gallon than ever before.  Some are actually going as far as to say we could see $5.00 a gallon in some parts of the country.

Why the price increase?  Three problems:  Iranian threats to block oil shipping routes, increased demand from China and our country's thirst for gas.

If you are looking for some help, visit the link on this page.  We might not be able to change gas prices, but we can alter our consumption.

The oil companies are price fixing. That is obvious. What needs to be done is to file a class action or suit for damages against the oil companies for the practice of this price fixing. The simple threat might get them to back off. The suit will survive even the Supreme Court scrutiny. I hope an individuel or group will take this up and act. P. Loturco St. George,UT
