SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - What's going around your neighborhood?  We are checking with area doctors along the Wasatch Front to see what's affecting your children.

In South Jordan, Dr. Zak Zarbock with Families First Pediatrics says he's still seeing a number of cases of flu and flu-like illnesses.  As well as a number of insect bites that can swell.  He suggests treating minor bites with Benadryl, Ibuprofen, and ice.

Dr. Joseph Cramer at Cottonwood Pediatrics in Murray says he's seeing a lot of children with the E. coli germ with sever diarrhea and possibly a disease of kidneys.  Cramer says to avoid the problem through thouroughly cooked meats.

And Doctor Isabel Cristina Lau at Mountainstar Ogden Pediatrics says she's seeing several children with animal bites.  She suggests teaching your children to not pet strange animals.  If your child is bitten, clean the wound with soap and water before consulting a physician.
