In South Jordan, Dr. Zak Zarbock with Families First Pediatrics says eyes are hurting! He is seeing several cases of conjunctivitis or pink eye. Typical symptoms include red, itchy or painful eyes with white or yellow drainage. He warns the condition is very contagious and suggests keeping your hands away from your eyes and face. He is also seeing quite a few cases of strep throat.Dr. Tom Metcalf with Salt Lake City's Wasatch Pediatrics says he is starting to see Influenza and it is all H1N1 or Swine Flu-- which isn't surprising since seasonal flu usually starts in late November or December. He suggests parents and kids get immunized against both types of the flu.
