SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) -  Doctor Isabel Cristina Lau at Mountainstar Ogden Pediatrics says she is seeing a lot of children with vomiting and diarrhea. She says vomiting is the first symptom and lasts about 24 to 48 hours and then is followed by diarrhea. In cases like these she says doctors generally treat the symptoms. She suggests keeping your child hydrated but antibiotics are not recommended.

In South Jordan, Dr Zak Zarbock with Families First Pediatrics says he's starting to see the colds roll in with the cooler weather.  Upper respirator illnesses with runny noses, coughs, and congestion are also on the rise.  Some children may get ear infections as well, that may be difficult for parents to identify.  If your child is not eating, sleeping and is pulling at his ears, see a doctor.
