SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) -  Doctor Shauna Gagner with Intermountain Kids Care says she has good news from Layton.

She says the Swine Flu has slowed down significantly in the area but viral illnesses are up. Symptoms can include a fever, diarrhea or vomiting and viral rashes.

Gagner says Layton is also seeing fewer cases of strep throat.

In South Jordan, Dr Zak Zarbock with Families First Pediatrics says he's seeing a dramatic decline in the number of flu tests.

However, the Coxsackie virus, which causes Hand-Foot and Mouth Syndrome, is on the rise.

Symptoms include a fever with sores in the mouth and tender bumps on the hands and feet.

Zarbock suggests treating the symptoms with Tylenol and fluids.
