In Layton, Dr. Shauna Gagner with Intermountain Kids Care says she is seeing Viral Pharyngitis this past week that often comes with a sore throat and sometimes a fever. Treat with fluids, rest and Motrin to help with fever and discomfort.
In South Jordan, Dr Zak Zarbock with Families First Pediatrics says he is seeing a lot of wheezing, associated with reactive airways and asthma, and that allergies are to blame. He suggests keeping up on allergy medication to avoid flare ups of asthma symptoms. If your child is having any respiratory distress or difficulty breathing see a doctor immediately
Doctor Tom Metcalf with Salt Lake City’s Wasatch Pediatrics says he is seeing more of those summer injuries—everything from trampolines and bicycles, to skateboards. Make sure to use the proper gear and to always wear a helmet.
