WASATCH FRONT, Utah (ABC 4 News) - What’s going around your neighborhood?

We’re checking with area doctors along the Wasatch Front every week.

To see what ailments are affecting your children, let’s start in South Jordan.

Dr. Zak Zarbock with Families First Pediatrics says he’s seeing a lot of children with croup, strep throat, and simple upper respiratory infections with a cough.

Luckily the flu and RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus is on the decline in South Jordan.

Moving North to Layton, Dr. Shauna Gagner with Intermountain Kidscare says she’s seeing a lot of influenza and flu-like viruses including fevers, body aches, and fatigue.

Even though it’s late in the season, she suggests getting a flu shot.

In Ogden, Dr. Ken Stevenson with Mountin Star Ogden Pediatrics says, although it’s dwindling, there’s still a large amount of RSV in the community, as well as some viruses that are causing vomiting and diarrhea. He suggests frequent hand washing and sanitizing as a preventative measure.

We’ll check back in next week to see what’s going around.
