SALT LAKE CITY (News 4 Utah) “I noticed right away and that’s what you get excited about.” Holly Brown is excited about the Galvanic Spa, and so is the Utah company that makes it. Nu Skin attributes the at-home beauty product for record sales in recent months.

Nu Skin representatives are careful about making claims it erases wrinkles, and point out that it is designed to distribute patented cosmetic products deep into the skin where they can be better utilized. Still, those who use the Galvanic Spa, and are now marketing it to friends and neighbors are less shy about the results they see. Holly Brown says;” I noticed really right away, underneath my eyes, and then right between my eyebrows. That’s where I really saw the tightening and pore size, skin texture change. It looked tighter.”

The Galvanic Spa uses micro-currents that are low voltage but high frequency. Angalena Davis, from Nu Skin explains it this way. “We have two repelling charges that are repelling each other and that’s how we are driving these ingredients into the skin.”

The ingredients of the gel used on the face in conjunction with the spa device are proprietary but Nu Skin says it targets free radical generators that cause the symptoms of aging.

While there are many before and after pictures that show dramatic results, and many happy product users, the Galvanic Spa is not without skeptics. Dr. Robert Von Moody, a board certified physician and surgeon and director of Bio-Restoration says the Galvanic Spa utilizes old technology to fatigue muscles. “If we take those muscles and we fatigue them to the point where they relax then we reduce wrinkles temporarily. As soon as that muscle is again fired up, when it’s reactivated with oxygen and nutrients, then the muscle is pretty much back in business.” He says the stimulation of galvanic charge could theoretically build up the muscle over time. Dr. Moody calls the results of the spa short-term. He says Botox puts the muscle to sleep with longer lasting results and no muscle build-up.

Holly Brown says she likes the Galvanic Spa because it doesn’t require the use of needles and injections and she challenges anyone who is skeptical to try it for themselves.
