Vaccination remains the surest bet to keep you healthy through flu season. If you're not a fan of needles, nasal inhalents are becoming a great alternative.

Tom Hudoachko from the Utah Department of Health said, "They're both equally effective. It's just a matter of shooting something into your arm or up your nose."

A common misconception is that the flu shot can give you the flu. Afterward, there can be an unhealthy reaction, but it's not the flu.

Hudachko stated, "There's no live virus in a flu shot, so you can't technically get the flu from the shot. But what you can get are side effects that are less severe and long lasting."

Even if you get the shot, other preventative measures are important like washing your hands frequently, and covering your cough.

"It's not completely 100%. There still is the chance you get the flu shot and still get the flu."

Getting the flu shot these days is very easy. If you need help finding a location nearest you, you can log onto health.utah.gov, click on health services, and look for the flu vaccination locator. It's that easy.
