First, they are Truffula trees, not Truffala. That said, the movie doesn't follow the story of the book very well. For all the complaints about bias, the story has been watered down considerably. In the book the Oncl-ler is not conflicted by what he is doing. He is outright callous about it until most of the creatures have left, being unable to live in the mess he created. Every time there is even an inkling of doubt he goes back to business is business attitude. It is aonly after the destruction is complete and his family leave because there is no more money left ot be made that he looks at what he has done. The movie has precious little of this. Then there is the upbeat ending which is completely made up. The book ends with a small ray of hope. Perhaps the Lorax and his friends will come back. Now I know they had to flesh out the story to make a two hour movie but they have changed most of what made the story so powerful. It saddens me to see the Dr. Suess's wife was involved in this. I can't imagine he would have approved of the undermining of his lessons. It makes me sad for a generation that may see these movies instead of reading his books.
